Mathematics
Manville’s mathematics program is aligned with the MA Mathematics Curriculum Frameworks, with a focus on conceptual, computational and problem solving skills and the real life application of those skills. Incorporating math texts and additional math resources, instruction emphasizes both mathematical thinking and hands-on learning. Students explore topics such as numeration, estimation, algebra, measurement, data collection and geometry across grade levels. Older students participate in pre-algebra, algebra and/or geometry instruction. Throughout the curriculum, students are given opportunities to connect mathematical knowledge to the real world.
