History and Social Science
Manville’s Social Studies curriculum integrates concepts, events, ideas and people from History, Geography, Civics & Government, and Economics. Lesson content includes factual information, concept development, and decision-making as they apply to such topics as ancient civilizations, United States and World history and geography, lawmaking, and human rights. At all grade levels, students explore these topics through texts, primary sources, literature, videos, art, hands-on activities and field trips. The curriculum is aligned with the History and Social Sciences MA Curriculum Frameworks.
