June 17, 2005
Boston, MA – Judge Baker Children’s Center’s Camille Cosby Girls Program recently held a Fun Festival for more than 30 girls from the local community at Judge Baker’s new building in Mission Hill. The girls from Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan and Hyde Park learned about the fun ways that they can spend their summer without the use of electronic media. The program is a comprehensive gender-specific initiative that addresses the physical, social/emotional, and academic needs of young girls in Greater Boston. The curriculum promotes creative self-expression and healthy lifestyle choices for girls through writing, physical fitness, and media literacy education.
