Work Study Research Opportunity
Description:
Since 1978 we have been conducting an exciting longitudinal study of life-span development with a group of 146 adolescents and their parents. Currently in its 4th phase, Paths Over Time and Across Generations focuses on the original participants, their partners, and their children. Overall, the project's goal is to learn about the challenges and pleasures of parenting; children's social, emotional, and cognitive development; as well as tracking successful paths from adolescence to mid-adult development. Across Generations offers a unique opportunity to learn about a longitudinal study as it unfolds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with data entering using SPSS
- Facilitating data collection
- Help with organizing and updating past data sets
- Converting tapes into digital media
- Scanning documents
- Transcription
- Working with Microsoft Word and Excel and other data related responsibilities
Qualifications and Skills
- Undergraduate student with strong interest in the research process.
- Some familiarity with IBM computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Detail oriented, self motivated and able to work both autonomously and with others.
- Must be willing to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week.
- Must be work-study eligible! Or volunteer.
Salary and Hours:
- Salary commensurate with experience and skills.
- Schedule is flexible, but prefer work-study student to work 2 day/week.
