Benefits

Employee benefits are an important part of total compensation at Judge Baker Children's Center. As such, the Center provides a wide range of health, time off, retirement, and other benefits designed to meet the many needs of our staff. All the benefits listed here are available to regular employees who are scheduled to work at least 17.5 hours per week.
Medical Insurance
The Center provides a choice of three medical plan options through Harvard Pilgrim. All health plans are subsidized by the center with coverage for individual, individual plus one, or family.
Dental Insurance
Employees may choose to enroll in the Met Life Dental Plan, which provides for such dental services as cleanings, diagnostic X-rays, fillings, tooth extraction, crown and bridge work.
Retirement
Judge Baker offers a defined contribution plan to employees who have worked at the Center for two years. The center contributes 8% of the eligible employee’s salary and they are vested immediately.
Short-term Disability
Employees are eligible to receive up to 60% of their pay after being absent from work for 30 days due to a medical condition.
Long-term Disability
The Center provides long-term disability benefits of up to 60 percent of an employee's monthly salary after being absent from work for a medical condition for six months.
Tax-deferred Annuity Plans
This voluntary plan is designed to help the employee provide retirement income with current tax savings. Participation in this plan is on a voluntary basis.
Time Off
Judge Baker offers its benefit-eligible employees vacation, personal days, paid holidays, and sick time.
Basic Group Life Insurance
The Center provides basic group term life insurance coverage in the amount of one times the employee's annual salary up to $50,000.
Reimbursement Accounts
Employees may set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for certain out-of-pocket medical care and dependent care expenses. Employees may choose how much to contribute to the accounts, up to the maximum of $1500 for medical care and $5,000 for dependant care. This amount is deducted from the employee's paycheck before taxes.
Employee Assistance Program
The EAP is a confidential program designed to help employees manage their work and life problems. The EAP provides assistance for the emotional and mental well being of our employees
MBTA Monthly Pass
Employees receive a 50% discount on all MBTA passes.
Credit Union
Employees are eligible to participate in Tremont Credit Union, which provides discounts and great rates on savings accounts, checking accounts, and loans.
