IT Manager

Description:

The IT Manager's role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The IT Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.  The IT Manager will also take substantial responsibility for hands-on IT work, sharing technical support and implementation tasks with a small staff while managing that staff for optimal productivity and effectiveness.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure stable, productive IT and Communications platform to support agency operations, including planning, purchasing, implementation, debugging, support, administration, and related tasks for over 150 users
  2. Lead collaborative planning of IT support for business and strategic goals
  3. Manage IT staff and contractors for effectiveness and accountability
  4. Provide hands-on network administration, help desk, and technical support
  5. Select and manage contractors and vendors as needed to meet agency needs
  6. Ensure information security in accordance with applicable standards and practices

 

Qualifications and Skills:
  1. 5 or more years experience in ICT support
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  3. Outgoing, interactive personality; highly comfortable working in teams
  4. Certification or equivalent competence in Windows server and desktop administration and maintenance
  5. Multiple years experience developing and implementing IT plans and budgets
  6. Ability to write RFP’s and analyze responses
  7. Prior development of IT policy and protocol documents
  8. Knowledge of help desk systems and tracking tools
  9. Multiple projects demonstrating integration of IT into business and strategic initiatives
  10. Detail oriented with excellent follow-through
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without accommodation)

Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear and be capable of repetitive motion

Position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly

Work requires close visual acuity

Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

 

Salary and Hours:

Full-time position, salary commensurate with experience.
