The Camille Cosby "To Walk a Mile in My Shoes" Essay Contest
Calling all girls between the ages of 11-14 in the Boston area who want to be heard! Here is your chance to express yourself. Judge Baker Children's Center is looking for girls who have a story to tell. Tell us what it is like to be a girl today. All you have to do is follow a few guidelines, write your essay and return it by 5pm on Friday, December 1st, 2006.
Essay Guidelines
- Essays should address the topic “To walk a mile in my shoes”.
- Girls between the ages of 11-14 years old as of December 1st are eligible to enter.
- Essays must be no less than 500 words and no more than 1000 words.
- Essays must be the original work of the student.
- Essays should not contain any swears or profane language.
- Essays must be written in English.
- Essays must be typed in12 point font and single-spaced. Note: Essays will be printed as received for distribution at the awards ceremony. If you do not have access to a computer or typewriter please let us know and we will make arrangements for you.
- Entry forms must be signed by a parent or guardian and submitted with all essays. Only essays submitted with a signed entry form will be considered for the contest.
- All essays must be submitted by 5pm on Friday December 1, 2006. Essays can be submitted via mail, fax, or email as a Word document. If faxing your essay, please also mail the original for photocopying.
- Essays will be judged on creativity, originality and expressiveness.
