Pediatricians
Pediatricians are well positioned to know children and teens at all ages and stages of their lives, giving them a unique window into their social and emotional development. Often times patients come to a pediatrician's office when they are not feeling well while other times they visit for their annual exams. A pediatrician is a trusted professional that families rely on for advice on their children's health and well-being. While pediatricians are well equipped to manage the medical needs of patients, there may be mental health issues and needs that are better addressed by a mental health professional. Clinical Care at Judge Baker Children's Center is here to help. We have expanded our outpatient mental health services and can partner with pediatricians to assist children and teenagers with mental health needs.
Our highly trained staff provides evidence-based assessment and treatment, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, for youth experiencing behavioral health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma or disruptive or oppositional behavior. Along with individual therapy and group treatments for children and teens, we offer skills-based groups for parents of children with behavior problems.
Clinical Care works with children ages 4-17. Over the past four decades, research on children's mental health care has identified specific practices that are effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and disruptive behavior disorders. These practices are called evidence-based treatments, interventions for which systematic research has shown evidence of good client outcomes including reduced treatment time and sustainable results. Judge Baker Children's Center is a national leader in research and dissemination of evidence-based treatments for children and young adolescents.
If you are treating any children or adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, or disruptive behavior problems who might benefit from these mental health services or whose families are interested in such services, we would be happy to collaborate with you regarding their care.
